Alverniaās Office of Career Development awarded for vast programming
Cross-campus and community partnerships contribute to post-graduation success
51³Ō¹Ļās Office of Career Development has been honored by (COD) for providing exceptional support during every stage of studentsā college experience and alumniās professional endeavors.
āPreparing students and alumni who can confidently navigate their career exploration and self-development in ways that incorporate Alverniaās core Franciscan values requires that they are not only well-educated but well trained to meet the demands and challenges of a rapidly changing and unpredictable workforce,ā said Senior Vice President and Provost Glynis Fitzgerald.
The Office of Career Development provides students with access to relevant information and networking through opportunities like Employer Meet and Greets that feature select groups of employers such as the event held on Tuesday, Sept. 22 for students of all majors searching for jobs or internships. These events are held multiple times throughout the academic year.
The office also offers services such as individual career counseling and coaching, various career exploration assessments, resume and cover letter development and critique, interview preparation, job search assistance along with many other tools in class, one-on-one, and online.
āI am really intentional about building partnerships,ā said Director of Career Development, Megan Adukaitis. āThe best way for us to reach the greatest number of students is by partnering across the campus and the Greater Reading and Berks County community.ā
Alverniaās Office of Career Developments engages in and facilitates career conversations that enable the entire university community to contribute to studentsā post-graduation success. With that, the office also provides resources to alumni, employers, and family members in order to develop connections that will ensure students networking opportunities to help them develop their professional career.

This academic year, 51³Ō¹Ļ was also recognized by the COD for their business programs, nursing programs and was named aāÆ2022-23 national, Catholic and Pennsylvania College of Distinction.
