51³Ô¹Ï’s online post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program is designed for students who have earned a master's degree in Occupational Therapy and have completed all prerequisites. The OTD is offered over eight mods requiring 16 months of study, including foundational, professional and fieldwork. It follows a year-round curriculum sequence: spring, summer, fall, spring.

Maintaining a habitable planet Earth is essential for our survival. Alvernia’s Environmental Science program provides students with an interdisciplinary foundation in the natural sciences to understand current environmental challenges and their potential solutions. The curriculum explores terrestrial, aquatic and built environments in the context of a rapidly changing climate and offers students experiential learning opportunities locally and abroad.
The mission of the exercise science program is to prepare entry-level exercise science students for careers in health promotion, fitness facilities, colleges and universities, clinical rehabilitation, and sport and athletic conditioning programs with potential eligibility for various certifications. After completing their studies, numerous exercise science graduates opt for advanced healthcare degrees, including medicine, physician assistant, and physical and occupational therapy. Alternatively, for those passionate about fitness and sports careers, there are diverse options such as coaching, corporate and individual fitness, exercise rehabilitation specialists, or strength and conditioning coaches.
The gerontology certificate of completion helps students meet the rapidly expanding job market in the field of geriatrics. The program is designed for individuals who have never attended college or who have a degree and want to complete this specialization.
51³Ô¹Ï’s online Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration program prepares students to pursue job opportunities in a wide variety of career options in this growing and popular field. The online program gives you the flexibility to study at your own pace at a place of your choosing while learning from faculty who are highly experienced in the field.
This program is also available in a hybrid format with courses primarily offered fully online and some evening courses via Zoom or on campus.

The duties of a healthcare administrator can be complex and varied, requiring a mix of business administration skills, knowledge of medical services and understanding of local, state and federal regulations that govern the healthcare industry and related insurance industry.

Perhaps most importantly, however, you’ll achieve a better understanding of the world and its people.
Earning a history degree at Alvernia can also prepare you for graduate school. History graduates have been accepted into a variety of graduate programs, including law, business and medical, at institutions such as Carnegie Mellon University, Penn State University and the University of Pennsylvania.
